Biography
Luanne Bryant Smith is an experienced attorney who practiced as a solo practitioner in Valdosta, Georgia, with a focus on Claimant’s Workers’ Compensation, Real Estate, and Business Law. In March 2024, she relocated to the Lake Oconee area to be closer to her two children, both of whom attend the University of Georgia.
A native of Cairo, Georgia, Mrs. Smith earned her Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) with a concentration in Accounting from Valdosta State University in 1996. During her time at VSU, she served as President of the Kappa Beta Chapter of Phi Mu, was named a Kappa Alpha Southern Belle, participated in the President’s Council, and received the Order of Omega Award for Academic Excellence.
She went on to earn her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 2000 and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2005. Mrs. Smith has been actively involved with the State Bar of Georgia’s Young Lawyers Division, serving on the Board of Directors and participating in the Leadership Academy in 2008. She was also a founding member of the Valdosta Young Lawyers Division and an active member of the Valdosta Bar Association prior to her move.
Currently, Mrs. Smith serves on the Executive Committee of the State Bar of Georgia Workers’ Compensation Section. She has proudly represented the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity for 18 years and recently began offering legal support to the Thomasville-Thomas County Chapter as well.
